Learning Difficulties

An assessment of  possible learning difficulties – specific difficulties in numeracy (dyscalculia), written expression (dysgraphia), or reading (dyslexia) – consists of testing to evaluate both intellectual abilities and academic abilities. It allows parents, educators, and other clinicians to better understand a child’s performance relative to their own intellectual ability and relative to children of the same age. It can be useful in identifying areas of strength and weakness, areas for additional learning support, and appropriate academic accommodations. It can also be useful in identifying discrepancies between expected and actual achievement and underpin the diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorders. This assessment is available for children aged 6 years or older.
