Attention Difficulties / ADHD Screen

An assessment of attention abilities or ADHD screen consists of testing to evaluate skills such as selectively focusing and sustaining attention and standardised questionnaires to assess difficulties with inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity across home and school settings. It allows parents, educators, and other clinicians to better understand a child’s performance and behaviour relative to children of the same age. It can be useful in identifying areas of strength and weakness and appropriate academic accommodations. A comprehensive assessment is typically recommended to underpin the diagnosis of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to ensure that other areas of possible difficulty have been appropriately evaluated. This assessment is available for children aged 6 years or older.
